The Claddagh is an Irish Promise ring that dates back over 100 Years.  It’s basic design is two hands holding a crowned heart.  There are many legends associated with it, but all agree that it has three lucky meanings. Faith, Friendship and Love.
The Loveknot pattern on my Dimma Claddagh is found in the Book of Dimma, which dates to the early 700’s.
The page shows the knot at the top and bottom of the Book of St. John.
A ring with only this Dimma Loveknot is also Available. Also note the Key Patterns incorporating the Celtic triskle on the left and right of the eagle. The Book of DImma is found in Trinity College Ireland and was likely made by
Dimma MacNathi, the scribe who signed the end of each of it's gospels.

The Knotwork represents two halves of a whole.
"I crown my heart with faith, to give to you my love, in friendship." Claddagh poem.
